Francisco Alvarez begins hand rehab

by Bruno Mulé | Mets Correspondent | Wed, Mar 26th 4:39pm EDT

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Francisco Alvarez had the stitches removed from his surgically repaired left hand on Monday and has started strengthening exercises, according to SNY.tv. (SNY TV)

Fantasy Impact:

Alvarez remains on schedule in his 6-to-8 week recovery timeline following early-March thumb surgery. The 22-year-old will progress to baseball activities once he builds back strength in the hand, putting a potential late-April return in play. Until then, Luis Torrens is expected to see the bulk of the work behind the plate with Hayden Senger backing him up.
