Greg Weissert secures spot on Opening Day roster

Greg Weissert has secured his spot on the Red Sox's Opening Day roster, per manager Alex Cora. (Ian Browne on Twitter)

Alex Cora said that Zack Kelly and Greg Weissert are on the team. One bullpen spot is open. It would seem to be Criswell or Bernardino. Also, Cora added that Sean Newcomb is likely the fifth starter.

Fantasy Impact:

Weissert had a rocky spring training, registering a 6.23 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP in eight outings. The 30-year-old turned in an excellent 2024 campaign, leaving the Red Sox to trust that he may be able to return to form.
