Ildemaro Vargas’ locker has been cleared out at Salt River Fields. Garrett Hampson has apparently made the team.

Vargas has the ability to opt out if another club offers him a big league opportunity. Otherwise he will head to Reno.

Montgomery and Ryne Nelson will open the season in the bullpen after losing the competition for the fifth spot in the rotation. The 32-year-old is drawing trade interest as well and could be on the move prior to Opening Day.
