The Mariners have released Mitch Haniger. The veteran outfielder/designated hitter hasn't played since the first week of May due to left shoulder soreness. They owe him $15.5 million for this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Haniger had been banged up in spring training and would have opened the season on the injured list. He returned to Seattle last year after one season with the Giants, but struggled all year at the plate.
