Ryan Pepiot named Rays Opening Day starter

by Bruno Mulé | Rays Correspondent | Sun, Mar 23rd 11:47am EDT

Manager Kevin Cash announced Sunday that Ryan Pepiot will start Friday’s season opener against the Rockies, per team updates, stepping in for an injured teammate. (Ryan Bass)

Fantasy Impact:

Pepiot’s 3.60 ERA and 142:48 K:BB in 130 innings over 26 starts last year earn him the Rays’ Friday nod versus the Rockies, replacing Shane McClanahan, sidelined by a triceps injury. The 27-year-old rises. Fantasy managers in all leagues should roster him, banking on his arm for strong value in Tampa Bay’s 2025 rotation from the jump.
