Kyle Farmer set for Rockies second base role

Kyle Farmer is slated to take most second-base reps for the Rockies with Thairo Estrada (wrist) out, per team updates, stepping in for an extended stint. (Thomas Harding)

#Rockies manager Bud Black said 2B Thairo Estrada will miss 4-8 weeks with a broken right wrist after being hit by #Rangers RHP Kumar Rocker last night. He will be re-X-rayed in about 4 weeks. Initial plan is to look at vet Kyle Farmer at 2B.

Farmer’s .214/.293/.353 line last year with the Twins precedes his chance at Coors Field, filling in for Estrada’s 4-8 week wrist fracture absence for the Rockies. The 34-year-old gets a boost.
