Alex Verdugo inks Atlanta deal

by Bruno Mulé | Braves Correspondent | Thu, Mar 20th 2:17pm EDT

Atlanta signed Alex Verdugo to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, per team updates, securing him a week before Opening Day after a quiet free-agent winter. (Jon Heyman)

Fantasy Impact:

Verdugo’s .233/.291/.356 line over 149 games with the Yankees in 2024 lands him in Atlanta, where he’ll vie with Jarred Kelenic in right field until Ronald Acuña (knee) returns. His role’s TBD. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should roster him, banking on the 28-year-old’s bat for early value in the Braves’ outfield if he’s game-ready by Opening Day 2025.
