Kumar Rocker competing for final spot in Rangers rotation

by Bruno Mulé | Rangers Correspondent | Thu, Mar 13th 4:39pm EDT

Rocker is in a battle with Jack Leiter for the Rangers' fifth rotation spot following Cody Bradford’s (elbow) injury, per Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News. (Evan Grant)

Fantasy Impact:

The former Vanderbilt teammates are vying for a temporary rotation role while Bradford recovers from elbow soreness. Rocker has struggled in Cactus League action, surrendering eight runs over just two innings, though he did impress with three hitless frames in an intrasquad game last weekend. Leiter has been sharper, posting a 2.53 ERA with 13 strikeouts over 10.2 innings, though his command wavered in his most recent outing. With concerns surrounding the durability of Texas’ starting staff, both Rocker and Leiter could see big-league innings at some point in 2025, even if only one initially wins the job.
