Fantasy Impact:
Alvarez, 23, last took the field Friday against the Nationals—how he got hurt remains a mystery—and after a 2024 hampered by a UCL tear (11 homers, .237/.307/.403 in 100 games), he’s looking at a late April return if all goes smoothly, or May if not, handing Luis Torrens the catcher reins while the Mets mull outside options. Fantasy managers in deeper formats can keep him rostered; his top-tier catcher upside is worth waiting out.
