Fantasy Impact:
Kingery sat out the majors in 2024 but crushed it at Triple-A—.273/.321/.505, 27 homers, 70 RBI, 76 runs, 26 steals—prompting a November trade from the Phillies and a 40-man roster add. His MLB past shows a .667 OPS and 28.4% strikeout rate over 1,127 plate appearances, and spring’s no kinder with seven whiffs in 19 at-bats. Kevin Newman (the frontrunner) and Tim Anderson are also vying to fill in. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues might grab Kingery for a power-speed spark if he wins out, but Newman’s edge tempers expectations.
