Heliot Ramos progressing in recovery from oblique injury

Heliot Ramos took a step forward in his recovery Wednesday, hitting off a tee and taking soft toss, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Originally scheduled to resume hitting Thursday, Ramos getting back to work a day early is an encouraging sign. The outfielder remains on track to make his Cactus League debut on March 4 and is expected to be ready for Opening Day if he avoids setbacks. Ramos is aiming to carve out a role in the Giants’ outfield this season.
