Miguel Vargas expected to be White Sox primary third baseman

White Sox manager Will Venable said Monday that Miguel Vargas is viewed as the team's primary option at third base, James Fegan of Sox Machine reports.

Fantasy Impact:

Vargas is also getting reps at first base this spring and has past experience at second base and in left field, but it appears Chicago wants him focused on the hot corner. He struggled at the plate after joining the White Sox, slashing just .104/.217/.170 in 42 games, and has yet to find success at the major league level. However, with his former top prospect pedigree and just 25 years old, the White Sox seem willing to give him an extended opportunity to prove himself.
