Gavin Sheets impresses in Padres debut

Gavin Sheets went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in the Padres’ 5-2 Cactus League win over the Mariners on Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
Sheets made an immediate impact in his Padres debut, starting as the designated hitter and batting fifth. He doubled off Jhonathan Díaz in his first at-bat, later scoring on an Oscar Gonzalez RBI double, and then added another run-scoring double off Blas Castano in the third. Signed to a minor-league deal in February, Sheets has a solid chance to make San Diego’s Opening Day roster and could see regular at-bats in a platoon role against right-handed pitching.
