Drew Rom shut down from throwing after shoulder soreness

Drew Rom has been shut down from throwing after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired left shoulder during a recent bullpen session, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Though Rom had been considered fully recovered from the arthroscopic surgery he underwent last May, this setback has led the Cardinals to give him a PRP injection and prescribe a few days of rest before reassessing his throwing program.
Fantasy Impact:
Rom was already a long shot to make the Cardinals’ roster after being removed from the 40-man earlier this offseason. Now, this setback further diminishes his chances of making an early-season impact. Fantasy managers should monitor his progress, but Rom remains off the fantasy radar for now.
