Aaron Schunk clears waivers, outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque

by Bruno Mulé | Fri, Feb 21st 2:28pm EST

Aaron Schunk cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday after being designated for assignment by the Rockies earlier this week. The 27-year-old infielder will remain in the organization and continue participating in big-league camp as a non-roster invitee, though he is expected to begin the season at Albuquerque.

Fantasy Impact:

Schunk has yet to establish himself as a viable big-league option, and his demotion reinforces that he's not in the immediate plans for Colorado. While he offers some defensive versatility, his bat has yet to translate at the major-league level. Unless he forces his way onto the roster with a strong start in Triple-A, Schunk remains off the fantasy radar.
