Ryan Walker tabbed as Giants closer

No surprise, but Bob Melvin said Ryan Walker is his closer. They’ll have a spring competition for fifth spot, with Harrison and Birdsong leading way. The main spot they need to figure out in camp is DH (Encarnacion, Flores are the favorites). Also Tom Murphy is fully healthy.

Fantasy Impact:

The anointing of Walker as the club's closer hardly comes as a surprise considering the season he put forth in 2024. The 29-year-old worked to an eye-popping 1.91 ERA while locking down 10 saves across 76 appearances a season ago, just his second campaign in the big leagues.
