Charlie Blackmon Homers, But Rockies Fall to Dodgers

by Chris Schommer | Sat, Sep 21st 12:04pm EDT

Charlie Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a home run and an RBI in the Rockies' 6-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Fantasy Impact:

The veteran outfielder managed to connect for his 10th homer of the season, providing one of the few offensive highlights for Colorado in the game. Despite the long ball, Blackmon's season batting average remains a modest .248, and his overall production has been less than stellar with a .308 wOBA. Fantasy managers should view Blackmon as a situational player, best utilized against favorable pitching matchups, rather than a consistent starting option. His power numbers are reasonable, but the lack of consistent hitting and on-base skills this season limits his upside in most fantasy formats.
