Edwin Diaz allowed one hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning as the Mets edged the Nationals 2-1.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing, while not flashy, was a solid performance for Diaz, who has been a bit of a rollercoaster this season with a 3.66 ERA and six blown saves. His excellent strikeout rate (13.7 K/9) continues to make him a valuable asset in fantasy leagues that reward strikeouts heavily, but his inconsistency in save situations might be a concern for those in need of reliable closing options. With a WHIP of 1.03, he remains effective at keeping runners off base, which should help him maintain a role in high-leverage situations despite the occasional hiccup.
