Travis Blankenhorn has elected free agency over accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Rochester. (Nationals Communications on Twitter )

Travis Blankenhorn cleared outright waivers and has been assigned to Triple-A Rochester.

As a player with a prior outright assignment, he had the option to declare free agency in lieu of accepting the assignment.

Fantasy Impact:

Blankenhorn was designated for assignment by the Nationals, but will now have a chance to look for a spot with another organization. He posted a .129 batting average in 13 games with Washington this season.
