Jack Leiter allowed five earned runs on seven hits while striking out two over five innings in Monday's 8-4 loss to the Yankees.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing did little to reassure fantasy managers, as Leiter's season ERA ballooned to an alarming 11.78, coupled with a WHIP of 2.13. His inability to limit hits and runs significantly undermines his fantasy value, and with a strikeout rate of only 6.4 K/9, he offers little in terms of countering the damage done by earned runs. The high BABIP of .400 suggests some bad luck, but it's clear that Leiter needs substantial adjustments to become a reliable fantasy option. His current form makes him a risky play in all formats.
