Bryan Woo stumbles, Mariners fall to Angels

by Chris Schommer | Mariners Correspondent | Sun, Sep 1st 9:22am EDT

Bryan Woo allowed four earned runs on five hits and zero walks while striking out three over 6 1/3 innings in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Angels.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite this less-than-stellar outing, Woo's season has been impressive, boasting a 2.30 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP over 17 starts. His performance on Saturday, while not disastrous, did show some cracks in his otherwise solid season, particularly in his inability to avoid hard contact which led to four earned runs. However, given his strong season-long metrics, including a stellar 7.89 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a low .218 BABIP, fantasy managers should view this game as a minor blip rather than a trend. Woo remains a high-quality option in fantasy rotations, especially considering his consistent performance prior to this game.
