Zebby Matthews allowed nine earned runs on ten hits while striking out five in a disastrous performance against the Blue Jays.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing ballooned his ERA to 7.41 and WHIP to 1.47 over his limited appearances this season. Despite a decent strikeout rate, Matthews's inability to limit hits and runs severely undermines his fantasy relevance. Given his high ERA and WHIP, coupled with a lack of saves or holds, Matthews remains a risky option in all fantasy leagues. His performance today likely did little to inspire confidence among fantasy managers considering him for a spot in their bullpen.
