Nolan Schanuel's quiet night adds little in loss

by Chris Schommer | Angels Correspondent | Sat, Aug 24th 7:46am EDT

Nolan Schanuel went 1-for-4 in the Angels' narrow 5-4 defeat to the Blue Jays.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite managing to put the ball in play, Schanuel failed to make a significant impact, contributing no extra-base hits, RBIs, or runs. His performance this season has been modest, with a .253 average and 12 homers over 120 games, numbers that are somewhat underwhelming for fantasy managers expecting more from the first baseman. His wOBA of .324 and BABIP of .289 suggest he's been fairly average in terms of creating runs and getting on base. Fantasy managers should temper expectations, as Schanuel hasn't shown signs of breaking out into a higher tier of production.
