Miles Mikolas struggled in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Dodgers, allowing five earned runs on seven hits while striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings.
Fantasy Impact:
This performance was a continuation of what has been a challenging season for Mikolas, whose ERA rose to 5.41 and WHIP to 1.29. Despite a solid strikeout-to-walk ratio, his high ERA and lackluster win-loss record are red flags for fantasy managers. Given his current form and the overall inconsistency indicated by his season-long metrics, Mikolas remains a risky play in most fantasy formats. His ability to eat innings is valuable, but the damage to ERA and WHIP might be too great a cost for marginal strikeout benefits.
