Gerrit Cole strikes out ten in no-decision effort

by Chris Schommer | Yankees Correspondent | Sun, Aug 11th 7:36am EDT

Gerrit Cole racked up ten strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run on six hits and two walks in Saturday's 9-4 loss to the Rangers.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite a strong individual performance marked by a high strikeout count, Cole's efforts weren't enough to secure a win for the Yankees, as the bullpen faltered after his exit. His season ERA of 4.70 and WHIP of 1.41 suggest some inconsistency, but his high strikeout rate (10.2 K/9) continues to make him a valuable asset in fantasy leagues, especially in categories that reward strikeouts. The elevated BABIP (.342) indicates he might be experiencing some bad luck on balls in play, which could mean better results are on the horizon if his luck normalizes.
