Domingo German called up by Pirates

Domingo German has been called up from Triple-A ahead of the Pirates' weekend series against the Dodgers. (Mike Rodriguez on Twitter)

German will join the Pirates after having his contract selected from Triple-A just one day prior to an opt-out date. German has spent the entire season in the Pirates' farm system, compiling a 5.12 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 70-to-34 K/BB ratio across 72 innings (14 starts). The 32-year-old righty, who has logged over 500 MLB innings in his career, has not pitched in the majors since July 31, 2023.
