Alex Bregman Homers, But Astros Fall Short

by Matthew Adam | Astros Correspondent | Tue, Aug 6th 6:37am EDT

Alex Bregman went 1-for-5 in the Astros' 4-3 loss to the Rangers, contributing a solo home run.

Fantasy Impact:

This performance, while showcasing his power, does little to alleviate concerns about his modest .248 batting average this season. With 15 homers now, Bregman continues to provide some value with his power, but his overall production has been a mixed bag. His wOBA of .311 and BABIP of .258 suggest some bad luck, yet fantasy managers might be growing impatient with the inconsistency. Moving forward, Bregman remains a viable option at third base, primarily due to his ability to drive in runs and score, but expectations should be tempered given the current batting trends.
