Andrew McCutchen's efforts not enough in Pirates' loss

by Chris Schommer | Pirates Correspondent | Sat, Jul 27th 9:14am EDT

Andrew McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the Pirates' 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Impact:

His contributions included a double, which drove in a run, and he also managed to score once himself. Despite his efforts, McCutchen's season has been underwhelming, with a batting average lingering around .227 and a modest power output. His on-base skills remain intact, evidenced by his walk rate, but his overall production has not been what fantasy managers might have hoped for from the veteran outfielder. Moving forward, McCutchen's ability to provide occasional extra-base hits and RBIs may keep him relevant in deeper fantasy formats, but his days as a consistent fantasy starter are likely behind him.
