Quantrill Steady in Rockies' Offensive Explosion

by Jesse Garcia | Rockies Correspondent | Thu, Jul 25th 8:11am EDT

Cal Quantrill turned in a solid performance Wednesday, allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in the Rockies' 20-7 rout of the Red Sox.

Fantasy Impact:

While the Rockies' bats stole the show, Quantrill did his part by keeping Boston's lineup in check, earning his eighth win of the season. His season ERA now sits at 4.09 with a WHIP of 1.34, which are passable numbers for fantasy managers in deeper leagues or those in need of innings. However, his low strikeout rate (6.8 K/9) continues to limit his upside. Fantasy managers should view Quantrill as a back-end rotation option, particularly valuable in matchups where the Rockies' offense can provide him with strong run support.
