Edwin Diaz notched his 12th save despite allowing a run in Monday's 6-4 victory over the Marlins.
Fantasy Impact:
Diaz surrendered two hits and a walk while striking out one. This outing, while successful in terms of adding another save to his tally, did little to reassure fantasy managers about his reliability. His ERA ticked up to 4.08, and with a WHIP of 1.19, the tightrope act continues. Given his high strikeout rate (12.2 K/9), Diaz remains a valuable asset in leagues that reward strikeouts heavily, but his tendency to allow baserunners keeps him from being a top-tier closer option. Managers should keep an eye on his performance for signs of improvement or further instability.
