Seiya Suzuki stumbles at the plate in Cubs' loss

by Chris Schommer | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Jul 21st 9:35am EDT

Seiya Suzuki went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in the Cubs' 3-0 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite reaching base twice via walks, Suzuki failed to contribute hits or runs, striking out twice in the process. This performance is a slight hiccup in what has been a fairly productive season for Suzuki, who maintains a .265 batting average and a .347 wOBA. His ability to draw walks and steal bases remains a silver lining for fantasy managers, especially in formats that reward on-base percentage and stolen bases. However, his high strikeout rate continues to be a concern, limiting his overall fantasy ceiling. Moving forward, Suzuki's mixed contributions in power and speed should keep him relevant in most fantasy leagues, but managers might want to temper expectations during slumps.
