Edward Cabrera struggles with control against Mets

by Chris Schommer | Marlins Correspondent | Sat, Jul 20th 9:45am EDT

Edward Cabrera had a shaky outing on Friday, allowing one earned run on five hits and five walks while striking out only one over 4 2/3 innings in the Marlins' 6-4 victory over the Mets.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the team's win, Cabrera's performance was less than stellar, struggling significantly with his command as evidenced by the high walk total. His season-long issues with a bloated 7.36 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP continue to be a concern, and his inability to pitch deep into games is limiting his fantasy value. While his strikeout rate remains high, his poor control and high ERA make him a risky option in all fantasy formats. Owners should monitor his progress closely, but expectations should be tempered given his current form.
