Griffin Canning was roughed up, allowing six earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over just 3 1/3 innings in Friday's 13-3 loss to the Athletics.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing was another blow to Canning's already inflated ERA, which now balloons further beyond the 5.00 mark. His inability to work deep into games coupled with a high WHIP and low strikeout rate continues to make him a risky play in all fantasy formats. With a FIP indicating that his struggles are not just bad luck, fantasy managers might start considering other options unless Canning can turn things around dramatically.
