Daulton Varsho's triple not enough in Blue Jays' loss

by Chris Schommer | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sat, Jul 13th 7:17am EDT

Daulton Varsho went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in the Blue Jays' 5-4 defeat to the Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Impact:

This performance, while modest, slightly uplifts his rather lackluster .197 batting average for the season. Varsho's ability to hit for extra bases, as evidenced by his 15 doubles, 4 triples, and 11 homers this year, offers some upside, but his high strikeout rate (0.270) and low BABIP (.241) continue to hamper his overall fantasy value. Owners should keep expectations in check, as his current form suggests limited contributions outside of occasional power and speed bursts.
