Paul Skenes named NL starter for All-Star game

Paul Skenes has been named the starting pitcher for the National League at the All-Star Game. (Pittsburgh Pirates on Twitter)

The rookie sensation has taken the league storm. Following his seven no-hit innings on Thursday, he'll carry a 1.90 ERA with 89 strikeouts over 66 1/3 innings (11 starts) into the break. He becomes the first rookie pitcher to start the All-Star Game since Hideo Nomo did so in 1995.
