Josh Fleming struggles with control in blowout win

by Chris Schommer | Mariners Correspondent | Wed, Jul 10th 4:07pm EDT

Josh Fleming tossed a hitless, scoreless inning but walked three in Tuesday's 12-2 rout of the Brewers.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite not allowing any hits, Fleming's control was clearly off, as evidenced by the trio of walks over just one inning of work. This performance, while not damaging in terms of runs, does highlight ongoing concerns about his command, which could be troubling for fantasy managers relying on him for ratios. With a season WHIP of 1.50 and a low strikeout rate of 5.2 K/9, Fleming's fantasy value remains limited to deeper leagues, and his high WHIP could be a liability in most formats.
