Martin Maldonado Homers, But Sox Fall to Twins
by Matthew Adam | Tue, Jul 9th 6:48am EDT
Martin Maldonado went 1-for-1 with a home run, a run scored, and an RBI in the White Sox's 8-6 loss to the Twins.
Fantasy Impact:
He also drew two walks in the game. Despite the solid performance, Maldonado's season has been underwhelming, batting just .108 with three homers and 10 RBI over 46 games. His on-base skills were on display with the pair of walks, but his high strikeout rate and low batting metrics continue to limit his fantasy appeal. While the home run might catch the eye of some fantasy managers, Maldonado's overall production suggests he should remain on waivers in all but the deepest or two-catcher fantasy formats.
