Yonny Chirinos allowed three earned runs over five innings in a shaky start as the Marlins narrowly defeated the White Sox 4-3 on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact:
He surrendered six hits and walked one while striking out five. Despite the win, Chirinos's performance was less than stellar, contributing to a season ERA of 4.19 and a WHIP that remains uncomfortably high at 1.60. His strikeout rate continues to be a bright spot, maintaining a solid 9.3 K/9, but his high BABIP of .400 suggests he's been somewhat unlucky with balls in play. Fantasy managers should remain cautious, as his inconsistency and elevated WHIP make him a risky play in all but the deepest of leagues.
