Rob Zastryzny: Efficient as Opener
by Chase Davis | Cubs Correspondent | Tue, Jul 2nd 8:32am EDT
Rob Zastryzny delivered a clean inning, allowing no hits or walks in Monday's loss to the Rockies.
Fantasy Impact:
He was operating as the opener after being recalled from Triple-A. His performance was efficient, using just 10 pitches to get through the inning without much trouble. However, the lack of strikeouts or high-leverage situations (saves, holds) limits his fantasy relevance. He pitched well this year in the minors with a 3.14 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 12.1 K/9. We'll need to monitor his next couple outings to see if he becomes more fantasy relevant.
