Counsell will take over for David Ross, who the team will now let go with the hire of Counsell. Counsell was the manager for the division rival Brewers for the last nine seasons and holds the record for most victories as a Brewer. Counsell is signing a five-year contract, worth $40M, making him the highest-paid manager.
