Battenfield was one of six Mets outrighted off the 40-man roster but he can still be retained if he isn't claimed by a rival club. The right-hander put forth a 5.19 ERA across seven outings (six starts) with the Guardians in 2023 while also posting a 6.00 ERA across nine innings at Triple-A with the Mets.
