Hamels, 39, was attempting a big-league comeback after last making a single appearance with the Braves back in the 2020 season. The left-hander won the 2008 World Series with the Phillies and was a four-time All-Star. In 423 career appearances, Hamels worked to a 3.43 ERA and a 16.1% K-BB%, winning 163 games in the process.
