Lamet was designated for assignment back on June 17 with the Rockies ultimately deciding to release the 30-year-old. He struggled with the Rockies in 2023, posting an 11.57 ERA and 2.34 WHIP across 25 2/3 innings of work. He is now free to sign wherever he chooses and shouldn't have much trouble latching on with another club hoping to see whether he can reclaim the form he flashed with the Padres a few years ago.
