Alfaro had his contract selected from Triple-A Thursday and will get right into the lineup, hitting sixth against Braves righty AJ Smith-Shawver. The 30-year-old hit .320 with six homers, four stolen bases, and an .886 across 43 Triple-A games in the Red Sox organization before opting out of his deal and joining the Rockies.
