Daniel Murphy signs minor-league deal with Angels

Fantasy Impact:
Murphy last appeared in the big leagues with the 2020 Rockies, hitting .236 with three homers across 131 trips to the plate. Most recently, he re-appeared with the Long Island Ducks of the independent league this season, hitting a hefty .331 with two home runs and an .861 OPS across 142 plate appearances. The 38-year-old announced his retirement in January of 2021 but will head to Triple-A in his next step toward a return to a big-league field.
