Vince Velasquez was steady on the mound for the Pirates Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits while also walking three and striking out seven over six innings in a 5-3 win over the Rockies.
Fantasy Impact:
Velasquez has been mostly solid on the mound for the Pirates to begin the season, allowing three runs or less in three of four starts for the club. The 30-year-old will look to miss more opposing bats going forward in a revamped Pittsburgh rotation this season, carrying a 1.50 WHIP with 17 strikeouts in four starts (2-2) on the mound so far this season.
