James Karinchak allowed one run on one hit in one inning of work in a 4-3 loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Karinchak came on in the bottom of the ninth to try to keep the game tied at 3-3 but served up a walk-off solo homer to Kerry Carpenter. The loss drops Karinchak's record to 0-3 with a 5.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over nine innings of work.
