Fantasy Impact:
Acquired in a trade that sent Tigers closer Gregory Soto to the Phillies, Sands was part of a four-man competition for reps behind the dish this season. Unfortunately, Sands has been outperformed by Eric Haase, Jake Rogers, and Andrew Knapp this spring as he's hit just .214 with a .491 OPS across 28 Grapefruit League at-bats. Sands will serve as catching depth until a potential need arises behind the plate in Detroit.
