Jeter Downs (hand) has tests come back clean

Washington Nationals infielder Jeter Downs had x-rays come back negative after being hit on the hand by a pitch. (Mark Zuckerman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Downs has missed some action in recent days after getting plunked on the hand but it appears the injury is simply a contusion. The Nationals added Downs this winter after he was designated for assignment by the Red Sox after hitting just .197 at Triple-A and .154 across 14 big-league contests last season. He did hit 16 home runs with 18 stolen bases across 81 Triple-A contests, however, and sports some upside at just 24 years old for the rebuilding Nats.
