San Diego Padres pitcher Craig Stammen is out long-term with an uncertain future due to a torn capsule in his right shoulder. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
The long-time big leaguer's career appears to be in jeopardy as a torn capsule would require surgery and a very lengthy rehab process. The 39-year-old has been excellent for the Padres in six seasons, tossing a 3.36 ERA in that time while he turned in a 4.43 ERA across 33 appearances last season. It's certainly unfortunate news for both player and team as Stammen has thrived not only in San Diego but also with Washington as he owns a 3.66 ERA across parts of 13 seasons in the big leagues.
